Music Is Instrumental, Inc.  is a 501(c)(3) organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service.  All donations are tax-deductible to the maximum extent provided by law.

We are already soliciting donations of service from talented high school musicians to use their musical skills to become sectional leaders in our North Raleigh Honor Band.  Sectional leaders will need to commit for the entire season, approximately 1 1/2 hours every 3-4 weeks from January to May.

In January 2016, we began to solicit instrument and monetary donations in earnest.

  • We are building a library of musical instruments that we will repair and refurbish as needed.  Under-privileged upper elementary and middle school aspiring musicians who do not otherwise have access to their own instrument when taking private lessons from talented high school musicians through our organization will use these instruments.  We expect to put these instruments into service when we roll out private lessons in the fall of 2017.
  • We welcome monetary donations of all amounts.  No donation is too small.  All of our staff are volunteers so 100% of funds collected will be spent toward serving our mission.  We have two committed donors to underwrite our start-up, however, there are myriad expenses in running our programs:  the Conductor is a paid position, we must pay for space, insurance so that we can rent space (required by Wake County), refurbish instruments and fund various other expenses of the program.

Please support our program in any way you can by volunteering, donating used instruments or money, or even just spreading the word about our North Raleigh Honor Band and our vision for the future.
